Given that their season is over and given the news that Dave Leitao is finally out, it's only right that I start the DePaul review thread

OUT
*Romeo Weems (going pro)
*Pauly Paulicap (transferring to West Virginia)
*Ray Salnave (transferring)
*Darious Hall (transferring)
*Oscar Lopez Jr (transferring)
*Kobe Elvis (transferring)
*Keon Edwards (transferring to Nebraska)
*Charlie Moore (transferring to Miami)

RETURN
*David Jones
*Courvoisier McCauley
*Nick Ongenda
*Javon Freeman-Liberty
*Markese Jacobs (I think he was out all year with an injury)

IN
*Brett Hardt Jr
*Kok Yat
*Ahamad Bynum
*Tyon Grant-Foster (transfer from Kansas)
*Jalen Terry (transfer from Oregon)

My 0.02:
*Early on in the Leitao 2.0 era, I was one of his biggest defenders. He inherited a bad situation that Purnell left him and I thought he could be the guy to finally get the Blue Demons back on track. After all, he had success at DePaul in the first time in the early 2000s. But I guess it wasn't meant to be. At least Leitao tried. Purnell just didn't give a damn IMO and now he's retired in Delray Beach, FL (per his twitter bio). Porter Moser or Darian "D-Rock" DeVries should be DePaul's top 2 targets. Now that DePaul has a new AD, I'm a little more hopeful for the Blue Demons' future

Also note that because of the coaching change, there will probably be many players transferring. I'll update when necessary

What do we think Leitao will do for the next decade until DePaul hires him again in 10 years?

Join Purnell in Delray Beach in "retirement"? (Till he comes out of it in 2031) hahaha

That's just uncalled for.

Just for that, I hope Ewing hires Leitao as an assistant and puts him in charge of end of game strategy.

Per Jeff Goodman, DePaul has set up their first three candidate interviews:

Kenny Payne, NY Knicks Assistant
Damon Stoudamire, Pacific Head Coach
Mike Davis, Detroit-Mercy Head Coach

Mike Davis is interesting. His name is usually associated with failure at Indiana, but he had a better record (.573) in the Big Ten than Crean (.438) or Archie (.423). A lot of Hoosier fans said he just won on Knight's coattails, but he was there 6 years and made the NCAA second round his last one.

I'd hope for Payne. He could be a hit or a miss but if I were DePaul, I'd hope he's the guy they hire

Darious Hall has entered the transfer portal.

My guess is that he's the first of many.

To the surprise of virtually no one, it's looking very much like Kenny Payne is about to be named DePaul's new Head Coach.
