Didn't cost us the game, but the ref calling an intentional foul when we fouled to try and stop the clock is a complete travesty.

Samuels hitting 6/7 from 3 is what cost us the game.

Hoyas clearly have improved with their time off.

Agree. Head scratcher there. If it was a clear path grab of the jersey that’s one thing. But in the backcourt, trying to extend the game with fouls, that’s a bad call.

Good game. You guys have become really dangerous. Wahab is a problem.

Hey Gumby,
That 5th scoring option came in handy today!

Beautiful game of basketball to watch. The polar opposite of the root canal crap you see in the SEC....especially if UK is involved (or you guys vs SJU) . GQJ orchestrates the Cats in masterful fashion with assists on 21 of 27 fg attempts....now that is EFFICIENT!

Nova devastating from the line as well, however Moore prevents the perfect game. I am sure they had some fun with that in the locker room afterwards.

VU with ELEVEN offensive boards vs a very good rebounding team in the Hoyas. It was a proverbial clinic in all phases.

Thanks Xup. Yeah Jermaine came to play. Good to see. He’s a hard worker who does a lot of little things for us. Ewing made option 5 beat him and he did yesterday. First time we played them PE did the same and Jermaine was 0/5 from 3. Yesterday 6/7.

My concern is defensively in the middle. Wahab is a monster vs everyone but yesterday he did whatever he wanted with little resistance. Like Freemantle for you guys, JRE’s really a 4. He can’t handle guys like Wahab or Theo so they need to pressure the ball better to prevent easy entrance passes and double when they can. But if our D doesn’t improve I don’t see any lengthy tourney runs in our future.

Your guys going to see an actual court any time soon?

Didn't see this one, but your post brought back bad memories of SHU being knocked out of the NCAA tournament by the same decision a few years ago.

Yeah it was one of those plays that is unfortunate from many sides. First, there is spirit of the rule and letter of the rule. He violated the latter. One can blame the refs for not hedging a bit from calling it, and you can blame Blair for not putting the refs in that position. There was zero reason for him to grab JRE's shirt from the back. He was right next to him; he only needed to slap at him like 99% of players do when in that spot, and he would have gotten the call. But he didn't. Ewing after the game said he "didn't have a problem with the call."

At that point the game had already been decided IMO. JRE made both FT's to make it 7 with :54 left. Could G'town have made a mad dash at the end? Perhaps. But they only scored 1 point the rest of the way themselves. It appeared to me to be a done deal at that point either way.

Nothing makes any sense. Evidently X was a green light for Thursday but DePaul opted out due to their protocols? The situation is confusing.
