Big East Freshmen Class So Far

Tried to take a look at the freshmen making serious contributions so far this season. I founds 13 guys getting legitimate minutes with 7 getting closer to starter minutes and 6 of them rotation minutes. No surprise the better teams in the conference aren’t relying on freshmen. Let me know if I missed anyone.

Which freshmen are standing out the most to you?
Anyone impressed with freshmen on their team who havnt gotten much of a chance yet?
Biggest disappointment?
Biggest surprise?

Ryan Kalkbrenner at Creighton has been playing meaningful minutes. He’s not going to score a ton with the veteran CU lineup, but he has contributed a lot.

Yea, should have definitely included him.

Yeah Breed really tore us up in Omaha, and Tate in Indy, and Garcia and Lewis in Omaha, those four really left an impression as well as Kalkbrenner for me. But the list is really impressive the Big East has a bright future although I worry about Marquette as Garcia is a 1-and-done.

Look for X to extend CJ Wilcher's usage to get him in the conversation. Even RS Freshman Dieonte Miles could make some noise according to Coach Steele.

Dawson Garcia IS NOT a " one and done". In fact, unless he has a monster sophomore season, he will not even be a "two and done".

Don't get me wrong. He's a very good player with a high upside. But he's got a lot of work to do before he's NBA ready.

My bad, I just knew his HS rank and saw his stats and assumed he was in some mock drafts.

Wrong the NBA drafts on potential. Dawson has it. If I had to guess I'd say 2 but he could easily make damn good money right now in the GLeague or overseas

If I was a Marquette fan, my worry would be that Garcia leaves Marquette before the NBA comes calling. How happy are these guys with the way things are going?
