UConn's length killed Nze last night. I haven't been an avid reader of the forum since COVID started (I manage healthcare organizations) - what's the Big East fan's thought on the Butler freshmen? From my point of view, it looks like things are starting to head in the old Beilein Michigan direction, which makes sense. Positionless basketball. Next year, Butler gets arguably the best two freshmen back - Scooby Johnson and JaKobe Coles, along with another outstanding (not highly rated), local class.
I do like Butler's young guards, but I would be really concerned with their frontcourt depth, and overall talent level going into next year.
Positives for Butler:
Tate, Harris, and Bo Hodges can potentially win you some games next year if those three play like they are capable.
Question marks for Butler:
Johnson, David, and Coles are all coming off of major injuries. David should see some time this year, but will all those guys be back to 100% or just shells of themselves? We shall see. The frontcourt needs a lot of work. Golden and Mulloy have already shown they are not an anchor you can build around. There is hope for Wilmouth and perhaps Hughes can be that guy, but Butler needs a transfer Big bad.
I'm interested to see the roster construction of the Bulldogs over the summer. They have some talented freshman coming in, but they need a Big and more shooting to get back to the top of the Big East.
