The Best Uniforms in College Basketball Belong to...

Postby bigeastbiggerstage » Fri Jan 22, 2021 5:15 pm

So I just did a top 5 list of my favorite uniforms in college basketball, and Xavier was the only school in the Big East to crack the list. Do you guys think another Big East team should have been on there?

Here’s the full article:

You should write the article as the best 5 uniforms for schools that I don’t go to.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

Xavier 3 in the country? They're not bad by any means but I don't even see a case for them to be top 3 in the Big East. Also not a fan of the Pitt uniforms at all.

I'll throw out my top 3 in the Big East (excluding SHU to avoid bias):

1. Villanova
2. St. John's
3. UConn (particularly the "Connecticut" ones)

Xavier is elite in every category according to this guy. My top 4 in random order:

Marquette - both yellow and sky blue

St. John's red

Nova dark navy

Georgetown gray

Definitive Big East rankings below. And yes I have my team last so you know there's no bias. Friars need to go to the throwbacks they wore last year full time. I've never liked our current set, which they haven't really changed in 20 years.

(1) Georgetown
(2) Villanova
(3) Seton Hall (script)
(4) UConn
(5) St. John's
(6) Marquette
(7) Xavier
(8) Butler
(9) Creighton
(10) DePaul
(11) Providence

I agree very closely with this except for Georgetown. They have some great ones but their rotation is cluttered with some bad ones IMO, which drops them down to probably #5 for me. They'd benefit greatly from simplifying.

I can get behind that. I was mostly going with a "best of" each team's current rotation. Which is why I stipulated the script with Hall because they'd probably drop down to 8 in their other font.

Agree I'm not a fan of SHU's non-script jerseys. Fortunately, they seem to wear them fairly infrequently nowadsays. They really should just drop them officially though. As far as Georgetown goes, I love the road navys - those are as good as anyone in the country. I don't like the alternate-home whites and while I'll give credit for trying something bold with the teal - they miss the mark for me. The home grays are okay, but I much prefer the ones that say "Georgetown" across the front so I'm a little disappointed that they went with "Hoyas" for this year.
