BIG EAST v. FOOTBALL 5 2020-2021

Postby redmen9194 » Mon Nov 23, 2020 10:40 am

WELCOME BACK!!!! With Big East Basketball back in a little over 48 hours it's time to rev up the Bog East v. Football 5 thread. Although the non-conference schedules have been scald back, we still have a good amount of games against the footballers. For those who are new - I'm looking at you UConn - we keep a running tab against the Football 5. This stems from the initial arguments made that the Big East would never be able to compete against that group since we lacked football revenue, etc. We have never had a losing record to the F5, and we don't intend to start now. I've listed the complete schedule here. If I'm missing something, let me know.

There are a total of 24 games. 10 or 11 against the Big XII; 6 against the ACC; 1 or 2 against the Pac-12; 5 against the Big 10; 1 against the SEC

You can scratch the Baylor- Nova potential game and probably the SHU - Baylor game. Covid-19. I have a feeling we're going to be using the framework of that first sentence repeatedly this year.

I'll keep it listed until cancelled, but I can't see how they play it even though Baylor has not paused it's activities yet which is crazy.

It looks like Bayor has now pulled out of the Mohegan Sun event so no Baylor for Villanova. There is also a report that Arizona State was pulling out as well so that might change a lot. No word on Baylor / Seton Hall as of yet.

Add Virginia Tech vs. Nova for Saturday 11/28

Apparently just after defeating ASU, Jay Wright goes out and finds a team to play this weekend. This is straight up playground...

Welcome to Omaha.

“Source tells CBS Sports that Seton Hall and Oregon have been in contact and are now expected to play in Omaha next week instead.

Multiple teams were banking on Seton Hall going to Mohegan to play.”
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.
