If the NCAA decides to use the final polls to identify a national champion after canceling the NCAA tournament amid coronavirus concerns, Bill Self will gladly accept the trophy.

The head coach at Kansas, the projected No. 1 overall seed had the 68-team field been announced, said he understands that using the polls -- Kansas is No. 1 in the final USA TODAY Coaches' Poll -- to decide a champion wouldn't be the typical way to do it but also said he'd be "in favor" of an alternate process in a unique season.

What would you like?

There is no champion. The year ended. Accept it and move on. It sucks, I hate it, you hate it, we all hate it, but it ain’t gonna change. The year ended and no national champion was crowned and that’s that.

Kind of like 2016 when they were the overall #1 seed... why play the tourney? Oh wait.....

That'd be awful, don't cheapen the Title like that. I doubt even all Kansas fans would want to "win" like that.

I think the likelihood of this happening is extremely low given they haven't even released a bracket.

Time to accept that the season is over and move on.

Asinine idea.

Plus, shouldn't the title go to the champion of the Big East, the undisputed (#1 RPI and #1 NET) best conference in the nation, that freakin crushed Kansas's conference 9-3 in our Challenge? And Villanova won at Kansas.

Congratulations to the National Champion Creighton Bluejays. Or call it a 3 way tie with CU, Seton Hall and Villanova

Doesn't the coaches poll #1 get the crystal basketball? Did they do a poll yesterday? If not, no champion at all.

I think Nova beat KU in Philly.

Agree. As a creature of habit...keep it simple. Give the damn thing to Nova. ;)

Not sure if Self has a new deal since 2018...but he'd make an extra $200K for "winning" a National Championship

If they didn't release a bracket they aren't going to crown a champion
