Here we are again with a great OOC now going into our usual pattern of losing the first 5+ games of conference play. Some things never change I guess even with a good coach.

Xavier's one of the worst 3pt shooting teams in the country, so naturally they'll hit like 18/20 or something ridiculous like that tonight.

Actually, St. John's is worse: NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Statistics - 3-Point Field Goal Percentage - Games through January 7, 2020
315. Xavier (94 of 316) .297

326. St. John's
(85 of 291) .292

St. John's - G'town. #OriginalFormulaBE

So with PC seemingly having no interest in just laying down for the rest of us (really selfish of Cooley and the Friar Faithful BTW  ), it seems that we need a team that is the anti-PC. We need one that does well in OOC to get their RPI and NET up to a respectable number only to flame out in conference play so we can all pad our records a bit. You wonder if either SJU or G'town (or DePaul) can/will be that team. 0-3 start is clearly not the end of the world for any team, but I get the sense that it'g going to be really tough to cobble together 3, 4 or 5 straight wins in conf play this year. Recovering from 0-3 could be a very tall task. But that is exactly what one of these two teams will be facing.

No idea what we're going to see tonight from either game...couldn't predict this if I tried. I have a feeling the SHU / X game is going to get chippy. Just a hunch about two teams that seem to use emotion as a motivating tactic.

Gtown guards tend to go one on one too much. I think that plays right into the hands of St Johns' frenetic pace.

Tyrique jones struggles against legit size in the post. and that's what Seton Hall has. I've been very impressed with SHU's front court. They block and force tough shots and allow their guards to play 3pt line.

I like the two road teams.
