I would be extremely disappointed with an 8 seed come tournament time. That said, given our inconsistency and performance so far I can't really make an argument for higher at this point.

All the seeds look about right, I could see Depaul moving up based on how they are playing...

7 teams would obviously be excellent, but I'm predicting 5-6.

Agree w Adoraz... 5 get into the dance. If Butler and DePaul continue to vastly exceed expectations, Marquette and the Jays won’t make the cut.

If we were to secure 5-6 bids to the Big Dance, what would be considered a successful tourney showing for the conference as a whole?

My expectations;

-2-4 into the Sweet 16.

-2 plus into the Elite 8.

-HOPEFULLY 1 in the Final Four, although I would not be "chuck my remote through the TV" disappointed if this expectation was not met (as long as earlier expectations are met), as so many things have to roll your way in this type of pressure cooker, single elimination format.

Thoughts/Other opinions???

Right now I see 5-6 bids, 2 sweet 16s and maybe one elite 8 (Nova or Seton Hall).

If Powell or Howard get hot at the right time who knows what either team can do.

You have to see what the seeds are. If they were what Lunardi projected- you have Marquette going up against a 1 seed(after a 9 seed), Xavier against a 3 seed, and then 3 5/4 games in rd 2(after 3 of the dangerous 5/12 1st rd games).

And then in 3rd rd your top 3 teams going up against the other 3 1 seeds, and the 6 seed going up against a 2 seed.

Kind of tough to meet your expectations after getting in the sweet 16.

Way too early. I think we get 5-6 teams in but really early to discuss seeds. Teams will improve during the course of the season. The conference as a whole is doing well.
