Sources: Rasheem Dunn was denied waiver. School will appeal. If not reversed, he would have to sit out the full year – after missing all of last year as well. #sjubb

Sources told me Cleveland State AD not supporting Rasheem Dunn playing right away and NCAA decision based on fact he could've stayed at Cleveland State, despite his coach getting fired and his teammates transferring. Mind-boggling. #sjubb

St. John's guard Rasheem Dunn would lose a year of eligibility if the decision is not overturned, source says. #sjubb

Very unfair ruling, and Garrett pushed to make sure he wouldn't get a waiver. Now he needs to sit out 2 years despite Garrett firing his coach in July. Unreal.

Most of you may assume St. John's will finish 9/10 in conference, however we did beat Temple over the weekend in a scrimmage so there is some hope. Without Dunn, our only PG, the season would be over before it starts.

Don’t know any details of his story, but why does he have to sit out two years?

It's in the article, but to sum it up:
1. Dunn transferred to Cleveland St in May 2018 and sat out all of last year
2. In July 2019 (over a year later) the HC he committed to was fired and most his teammates transferred
3. In August 2019 he transferred to St. John's
4. The Cleveland St AD (Garrett) has actively worked to make sure he won't get a waiver
5. The NCAA apparently listened to Garrett and denied Dunn's waiver, which also will cost him a year of eligibility (in addition to sitting out AGAIN all of this year)

Garrett is a coward who is blocking #sjubb fans critical of him. Would really appreciate if other fan bases can Tweet at him and let him know your thoughts:

Awesome. We're trying to get this story to go viral. So far Jay Bilas and of course NY Post's Zach B have been bringing attention to it. The more noise the better!

My twitter is pretty new so I don't have any reach, but I'll do what I can.

MRW Scott Garrett is tweeting freely and not cowering in fear

I'm in...we need everyone to help out. I would do this for any other Big East school...it's the most absurd denial yet. Sitting out TWO years and by the way he'd also lose a YEAR of eligibility if we lose the appeal. This is so wrong on so many levels.
