Tariq Owens has asked St. John’s for a release and will graduate in May, per a source. Averaged 8.4 PPG & 5.9 RPG this season. (per Evan Daniels)

Also Big East leader in blocked shots per game (2.8 bpg, 11th nationally). Made a lot of progress this year. He’ll be missed.

Not 100% that he is leaving, his dad said he could stay. He is checking out what other options he has though so he could very well be gone.

Is there competition that was ineligible on the bench that he's worried about for his minutes? Or is he just considering a school with a better chance of making the tournament next year? Not that SJU has no shot at making the tournament, but it's not like it's a lock.
