Crazy that with 1 game to go, Seton Hall can finish as high as 3rd and as low as 7th...

I don't think Creighton beating Marquette is a given. If we play defense like we did in Omaha and Marquette shoots relatively well, it could be a double-digit loss for Creighton. It is going to take a special effort by Creighton, I believe. CU could finish 3rd to 6th, I think. Fortunately, upsetting Nova and taking care of business against DePaul has erased the chance of falling to the play-in game, and this game isn't to stay off the bubble - although losing will probably slide CU directly into 8-9 seed territory.

We can't finish 6th and or be seeded 6th. From a standings perspective, we either are in 3rd by ourselves (with a win) or we share 3rd (a loss, joined at least by the winner of the Butler-Seton Hall game and PC if they win, too). From a seeding perspective, we can be as high as 3rd but no lower than 5. Since we are 2 games up on MU and either Butler or SHU has to lose, an MU win and they will tie for 6th with the loser of BU-SHU. I believe Stever accurately portrayed the seedings if that plays out.

there could be some fun scenarios on Saturday night- Butler/Seton Hall-

If Providence and Creighton both win earlier... The winner of the Butler/Seton Hall game finishes 4 or 5 and plays Providence 1st round. The loser plays Creighton in the 3/6 game.
If Creighton wins and Providence loses earlier. Butler wins- Butler/Seton Hall would rematch in the 4/5 game, while PC and Creighton play. If Seton Hall wins- it's Seton Hall/Providence in the 4/5 and Creighton gets Butler in 3/6
If Providence and Marquette both win earlier. Butler wins- it's 3 Providence/6 Marquette and 4 Butler/5 Creighton. Seton Hall falls to 7. If Seton Hall wins- 3 Seton Hall/6 Butler rematch, and 4 Creighton/5 Providence. Marquette 7th.
if both Providence and Creighton lose.... Butler wins- Butler/Seton Hall would rematch in 3/6 game, Creighton/Marquette would rematch in 4/5 game, while PC is 7. Seton Hall wins- Creighton/Providence in 3/6, Seton Hall/Butler in the 4/5 game. Marquette remains 7.

I think no matter what the Butler/Seton Hall game will mean something.

So if Providence and Marquette both win, Seton Hall goes into the nightcap knowing they can finish 3rd or 7th but no in between.

Considering how shorthanded the Pirates are right now, I'm hoping that doesn't happen. 3-6 I don't care, but I hope 7 is off the table by the time they play.

So SJU will most likely end up as the 9 seed correct? Ugh, that means we'd need to play the 1 seed the following day at noon. I don't care if it's Nova or Xavier we'd play, the time slot is just brutal.

Much rather get the 10 seed, though not at the expense of losing...

It'll probably be opposed by entitled alumni of the schools involved, but I'd be in favor of starting the tournament Tuesday and take Thursday off. Whether you feel these kids should be paid or not, making them play 3 to 5 games in as many days is cruel.

You just need Creighton to be Marquette...that would keep SHU off the 7 line. An MU loss, regardless of the outcomes of the other games, guarantees the 7 seed for them. I can overnight a Creighton shirt for you to wear tomorrow : )
