That Seton Hall @ Providence matchup is huge.

Friars need some separation and the Hall doesn't want it to get away for them. The Pirates don't want to have 8 losses at this juncture. Seniors need to step up only a few BEast games left in their career.

For PC, IMO this is pretty darn close to a clinching game for them making the tourney. But for them a loss here, and it gets nervous time for them- with games left @ Georgetown, @ Xavier, and St John's.

For Seton Hall, it probably is close to the same. They've got left after today @ St John's, Nova, and Butler.

So loser will have a tough run of it, especially Seton Hall. But winner should be in pretty easily.

St John's/Marquette probably is an elimination game. Winner not in, but loser almost definitely out. Probably a big NIT game for getting in that tournament quite frankly.

A loss for the Hall tonight likely means they're playing Wednesday in the BET as Marquette has the tiebreaker over them and a much easier remaining schedule. For that reason alone, this is massive for them.

Seton Hall is looking at 7-8, with PC favored by a point and a half. And they finish up with @ St Johns , vs Villanova, and vs Butler.

I think I'd be a little worried, if I were a Pirate fan. I think they are going to need some BET games.

They'll need to do some work in the BET for sure if they lose out. RPI Forecast has them entering the BET with a 40 RPI if they finish 1-3 - which means just surviving the Wednesday game should be enough to get them in and may not even be completely necessary (though I certainly wouldn't want to go into selection Sunday having lost 4 of 5 including 1 and done in the BET).

Regardless of if they get in or not, this season is still a major disappointment for a team that was expected to challenge for the league title.
