Sadly, I think Marquette is out. However, it bodes well for a top seed in the NIT. If we can't make the NCAA Tournament, let's have the Big East win the NCAA Tournament AND the NIT. The more hardware for our conference, the better.

Something's got to give.
KPI (which got all teams except 1 right last year) which the committee uses in their deliberations, has Marquette out.
Dance Card, which has a pretty good track record, has them in.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

The guys at CBS has Nova and X as 1 seeds and palm just said Marquette is last team in but if Davidson wins, they take MUs spot. I think the committee gives Marquette the benefit of the doubt due to association.

Davidson wins. What a crazy game.

Good season for Marquette and they have a good team. But I doubt they will be in. Maybe the committe gives them a pass for being in a tough/deep Big East Conference... who knows...

We should be officially out. Glad for Davidson. Rhode Island is playing like a team that is about to lose their head coach. Undisciplined and without cohesion. I expect an early exit for them.

Oh well. New goal: have the Big East win the NCAA Tournament and the NIT.

I was rooting for URI, but just couldn't do it when the game got tight down the stretch. So happy for McKillop and his players.

PC a 10 seed? won 3 games against top 5 teams (and #1 seeds) and took a 4th game to overtime and they get a 10 seed? A game, if they win the 1st, against UNC at home, is the reward. maybe its better than 8/9 since they wont have to face number 1?

The problem is that's all they had. 5-8 vs group 1, including only 3-8 away from home. And the bad losses. I think we may find out that they were supposed to be a 9 seed, but because of 2 8's already and 2 1's- couldn't be seeded as a 8 or 9.

So going by RPI the committee was actually a little generous. It was 1,1,8,8,9,9 until they had to move teams around. RPI still rules the day (rightly so)
