The Garf?

I'm just hanging out at home for my day off from work and I flipped to the St. John's-Duke game. Can someone tell me why center Court at Madison Square Garden says "The Garf?" Is that some sponsor? I've never heard of it. It just seems bizarre.

This is what a quick Google Search says:
"Garfinkel, who discovered and groomed some of the top basketball talent in America across the last 50+ years at his famed Five-Star Basketball Camp, passed away in May 2016 at 86"
