Butler 29, PC 25, at the half.

Lindsey hit 2 late threes.
Butler had the lead from between 6 to 12 most of the half.

Very few fouls, clean game, and the half went by quickly.
Maybe 6 combined free throws, and neither team was in the bonus.

As usual, Butler was pretty sharp, while PC had some turnovers.

Butler continues to shoot poorly on the road... We shoot like we did today against DePaul we will lose that one also. Prov has too many weapons and they overcame a ruff first half to put us away. Difference today was when the Bulldawgs left a man open Friars hit the shot.

I think it was our mascot... Too much to overcome.

Plus, our secondary mascot is a dalmatian.

Road wins tough to get in this league, and after hosting Creighton next weekend we go to Philly-Jersey-Milwaukee. Tough stretch.

This mini-league between PC, Creighton, Butler and Marquette should produce two bids, maybe three. I wouldn't want to be the fourth team in that group come selection sunday.

Providence was the more physical, mentally locked-in team today, congrats on the win. Wish Butler was recognizable outside of Hinkle. Basically unless Martin and Baldwin are going off, they aren't winning on the road. Jorgensen was bad too.

Lindsey is often looked at a stand and shoot three point man, but what gets overlooked is what a good man defender he is. He always gets the other team's best scorer (assuming its not a PG or a 5). He locked Martin down today. He fronted him in the post, and chested up to him outside the lane.

In the last three games he played Strauss from DePaul, Martin today and Bluiett last weekend and held them all below their averages. Rowsey as well. (Although Howard smoked us in that game we lost to Marquette).

We finally did some good work on the defensive boards (helped out by some bad Butler shooting), which has been a weakness for us all season, and of course, Cartwright can just be unstoppable when he has that look. The Nova-PC games, Brunson vs Cartwright should be a blast.

Cooley challenged the 5 spot for playing soft. Young had the best game of his career.

Cartwright won't make 1st team BE but he's as important and clutch as anyone in the conference not named Brunson.

Two conclusions from this one:
1- Butler isn't that good
2- Kelan Martin is overrated
