Spread is 9.5? :o Would love to take the points, but I can see Nova covering that. Their offense is ridiculous.

My concern for Nova is that Jay might eventually run his guys into the ground being as shorthanded as they are.

Ah they're college kids so I'm not worried about burnout. Maybe in the conference tournament. Game to game foul trouble would be a bigger concern.

the short bench isn't all about guys getting tired. having a deeper bench just gives you more options when some of your key players struggle. especially in the tourney, a 5 min spark from a bench player can mean the difference. and you're much easier to scout on short turnaround if you only have 7-8 man rotation.

That's why I think it's critical Jay keeps playing guys like Samuels.

Welp, I'm ready for the annual beatdown. I'll maintain this pessimism about the game until Xavier makes this game respectable.

Well we would be 9 deep if Gillespie and Samuels didn't break their hands. When they come back sometime in Feb., all three freshman will get between 12-15 mpg, leaving 25-30 mpg for the 6 "starters".

Nova looks crisp on offense as always. Have to think XU will get a few more shots to fall in the second half and we have an exciting finish.

Do the X players have hot dates waiting? Playing as though they have somewhere else they'd rather be? Maybe it's gametracker, but from here they don't seem to have any urgency tonite. Bluiett has what 4 or 5 shots? As he goes so goes X.
