Providence convinced me yesterday that they are good enough to make the ncaa tourney but I’m guessing they still have work to do.

My bet that is that we have 4 locks and three others that will battle for 2 spots.

100% Yes
Nova
XU
Hall

90% Yes
Creighton

75% Yes
Butler

50/50
Marquette
Providence

Unlikely
Hoyas
St. John’s
DePaul

Change your unlikely to No and I think you are right.

The Friars started out 4-8 last year.

I am pretty much in line with ur estimates except i would put Butler and Marquette/Providence lower percentage wise.

So you think 4? Or 5 maybe?

My thought is 4-unlikely--think we get more, 5- likely--most probable possibility, 6-maybe, 7-unlikely, but possible

Unless the top 3 or 4 are dominant I see us getting 6 in. 7 was quite the anomaly last year with Creighton and Xavier losing PGs and having 5-7 feast on those RPI boosting wins. I don’t think Nova X or Seton Hall will go 15-3 or anything dominant like that. If our league champion goes 13-5 we should get 6 in. Heck we have 3 top 10 RPI teams right now.
My way too early guesses (not based on current resume):

Nova - 2 seed
Xavier - 4 seed (think they’ll struggle on the road)
Seton Hall - 4 seed
Creighton - 6 seed
Butler - 10 seed
Prov or Marquette - 11 seed

Think St John’s will recover to make the NIT but their shot selection/offense is just not disciplined enough at this point to match their non-conference showing.

6 with the last Big East team playing in Dayton.

The at large field is very, very weak this year. With the latest suspension at Minnesota, the Big 10 stinks out loud outside of MSU and Purdue. The PAc 12 is also down significantly. There will be a lot of mediocre teams getting at large bids this year. To predict ins and outs right now is especially difficult as a result.

With DePaul winning the conf tournament, we'll get 8 in.
