(2) Games Today - Sunday - New Years Eve...

Postby billyjack » Sun Dec 31, 2017 12:42 pm

Two games today:

Providence at #25 Creighton, 2:30pm.
St John's at #23 Seton Hall, 5pm.

Several seasons ago i was at my in-laws in Florida on New Years Eve, and FS1 allowed me to watch the Friars vs Creighton. Today PC is in Omaha.

Johnnies vs Pirates will be chippy... the first skirmish i will guess, will be between Marvin Clark and Desi Rodriguez.

Here's to the spreads holding and the home teams win.

Nice solid win for Creighton, going 0-2 would have been disastrous.

Man, Creighton would've been legit looking at the #1 ranking without those 3 second half meltdowns. Hopefully they can hold leads better going forward.

Yeah, it's weird, anytime Creighton has a halftime lead, I worry more....

No Ponds? They better play inspired ball or this could get ugly.

St. John's played pretty well in that first half. Looks like they have a game plan to keep the Pirates of the paint and they're doing a great job of that. Only reason they're down is that SHU has been pretty hot from 3. If I'm Mullins, I tell them to keep it up and hope the Pirates cool off from deep. If that happens, they can certainly win. Of course they could also adjust to take away the three, but that may just be giving the Pirates what they really want. Should be a good second half.

And even of the Johnnie's lose, playing without their top 2 guards could ultimately benefit them by forcing other guys to step up.
