(3) BE Games - Wed Dec 6th 2017...

Postby billyjack » Wed Dec 06, 2017 10:32 am

Three games tonight.

Wednesday Dec 6th 2017:
Kent State at #14 Xavier, 7pm.
Brown at Providence, 7pm.
Central Connecticut at DePaul, 9pm.

Really solid chance at 3-0.

Xavier is hot.

Providence is Jekyll-Hyde, with our previous 2 midweek games being nailbiters. Brown always drives us nuts. But because of our loss to URI, i think PC will come out really focused tonight. But as usual a game like this freaks me out. It's close, but pretty sure the Brown campus is closer to the Dunk than PC.

DePaul has their first solid test, vs CCSU, which has won 5 straight i think. Based on their competitiveness to this point, i would think DePaul should win this by around 10 or 12, but who knows. CCSU is coached by UConn star Donyell Marshall, not to be confused with UConn star Donnie Marshall, one of my favorite analysts. Donyell as player and Dave Leitao must've crossed paths with Jim Calhoun at some point.

The Friars are in a dogfight with Brown. This one could go down to the wire.

I missed the game but I’ll say what many are probably thinking: “ what’s wrong with PC right now?” I really expected them to take a big step forward this year but struggling to beat Brown? KC barely contributed. What’s going on in Friartown?

Friars barely beat Brown, winning in overtime.
Early second half, Brown was up 15 and was drilling 3 after 3.
Cartwright hurt his ankle, didn't play til 10 minutes left.
These games shouldn't be this close.
Pecked away at lead playing a smaller lineup.
I think our big men in the 2nd half were Bullock and Lindsey.
Just hoping we can get through the non-conf without any more losses.
Still have to play at UMass, Houston at Mohegan Sun, home to Stony Brook and home to Sacred Heart.

Is the loss of Holt making it much more difficult?

X is tough this year and I'm going to be pissed every time we play them this year, barring injuries.

Providence is good as always, but is perplexing in that they just have some stinker games as usual?!?! :?

DePual will win some games they shouldn't this year, but will still be near the bottom. Might be moving up in a few years, but still got a few is my take. :|

Yes, though our two young bigs are talented, Holt was an excellent rebounder and would have been the heart of this year's Friars with his attitude, plus he could hit 3's to space the floor.

I think smaller lineups wifh Bullock and Lindsey at the 4 and 5 may work better for us until Young and Watson develop a little more.

their offense looked stagnant especially with cartwright's ankle bothering him. and they are trying to run the offense thru bullock but he's just not that type of player. he's better as a pick and pop guy. and i expected huge jump from diallo from his impressive freshman season, but i haven't seen that yet.

I had Providence as my #2 team coming into the year. After last night, I finally dropped them below Marquette to 8th in my rankings. They haven't really had any bad missteps but they've been the least impressive Big East program, relative to expectation, without a doubt.

Villanova
Xavier
Seton Hall
Creighton
St Johns
Butler
Marquette
Providence
Georgetown
DePaul
