plus I would say that I think the top 3 teams this year as a whole are much better than the Big East has had since the moves.
top 3 in KP ratings in these 4 years- along with their cumulative conference records...
2014- 7/13/45 40-14 (4 bids)
2015- 5/23/20 40-14 (6 bids)
2016- 5/15/24 42-12 (5 bids)
2017- 2/26/27 37-17(7 bids)
2018- 1/11/16 so far
the top records possible for top 3 teams are 48-6. It won't be that dominant, but I think seeing those top 3 teams going definitely closer to 2016 is very possible, if not likely. Would it shock anyone to see those 3 teams going 45-9?

Texas Tech was already ahead of Creighton. That's 2 teams that may jump Creighton.

Meanwhile, Creighton will jump most of these teams:

Cincinnati
Minnesota
Nevada
USC
UCLA
Rhode Island

It's going to be close!

Louisville probably passes Creighton after beating Indiana(even though Indiana is mediocre, they're a name). It was 53-50 last week.
Oklahoma beat USC so there's a danger that they pass Creighton up this week from #39

It's no lock that a #17 team loses a game to a #5 team in the country and falls behind Creighton.

It's not going to help Creighton at all that they were unimpressive vs Nebraska.

looking at AP Poll with results from last week
1- Duke- 1-1 losing to BC
2- Kansas 0-2 losing to Washington, Arizona St
3- Mich St 2-0
4- Villlanova 2-0
5- Florida 1-1 losing to Loyola Chicago
6- Wichita St 2-0
7- Texas A&M 1-1- losing to Arizona
8- Kentucky 1-0
9- Notre Dame 1-1- losing to Ball St
10- Miami 1-0
11- UNC 1-0
12- Gonzaga 1-1- losing to Nova
13- Xavier 2-0
14- Minnesota 0-2- losing to Nebraska, Arkansas
15- Virginia 0-1- losing to West Virginia
16- Arizona St 2-0
17- Cincy 0-1- losing to Florida
18- West Virginia 2-0
19- Seton Hall 1-0
20- TCU 2-0
21- Purdue 2-0
22- Nevada 0-2- losing to Texas Tech, TCU
23- Baylor 2-0
24- Tennessee 1-0
25- USC 0-1- losing to Oklahoma

looking at this-
Nova- probably #2. I think Michigan St will be #1 tomorrow.
Xavier- moves ahead of Florida, Notre Dame, Gonzaga. Falls behind Arizona St and maybe West Virginia. so a net plus 1 or 2 jump. So 11 or 12(maybe 10 if they pass Texas A&M)
Seton Hall- moves ahead of Minnesota, Cincy for sure. Maybe Virginia. So 16 or 17.
only teams guaranteed to fall out of the poll are Nevada and USC. Minnesota might as well. Got 3 teams outside the poll who got huge wins in Florida St, Texas Tech, and Arizona.

Just noticed that Butler and St Johns are two one-hundredths apart in aggregate Pomeroy Rating. If you go down the list, you'll find that it's not super common for two teams to be separated by so small a number. I doubt you'd find any within that range in all of the data, for all of the years, in the same league.

This. Honestly do not care about any of you.

If you take care of your business you'll be fine. Georgetown's schedule isn't hurting anyone. If you don't get into the tournament because of Georgetown's schedule then you didn't deserve to make it.

In fact Georgetown running up the wins OOC is actually better for other BE teams' RPI as 50% of your RPI is your opponents record while on 25% is your opponent's opponents record and that last 25% is very dilute with all the teams thrown in there.

Last year the BE had 3 teams with RPI over 100*:

Georgetown 107
St. John's 140
Depaul 236

This year the BE is projected to have 2 teams with RPI over 100 &:
Georgetown 146
DePaul 167

* pulled from Real Time RPI
& pulled form RPI forecast

Don't see how Georgetown's schedule has hurt the conference at all.
If we had stayed in and had a schedule like DePaul would it have helped the conference or our RPI. It appears no.

That's because you haven't lost. Your schedule is the equivalent of pulling out and hoping she doesn't get pregnant. It's worked so far, but holy shit is it risky.

So Butler's resume is starting to look impressive. Are they better than we thought? I haven't seen em in action yet.

If Georgetown beats Syracuse, which is a top 25 rpi team, GT will skyrocket in the rpi and their schedule will be seen as "visionary." Could be the reason they make the tourney. And guess what, you'll start to see other power conference teams doing it, especially the ones with 20 conference games.

Saturday will be very telling. Things are starting to click defensively, but offense still has a ways to go.

Don't like Saturday's matchup. This team thrives on creating offense out of defense. Purdue takes care of the ball, so there will be limited opportunities for it. Still gonna be a fun day. The Crossroads Classic is a fun event, and I can't wait to head downtown for it.
