Saint Mary's has an interesting resume, only have beaten one NCAA tourney team in Gonzaga but only played one NCAA team all year (Gonzaga twice). I think they are in if they lose to BYU but probably a 10 or 11 seed. BYU could be a bid stealer.

Are there any teams that stand out? That would a huge undertaking. Maybe stever has some time? I don't remember St Bona as being anything special as JP Schmack is saying, but i'd be curious to find out.

Props for wanting data.

"Best RPI" is meaningless. RPI is dependent on two things: Win Percentage and Schedule. If you change someone's conference affiliation, you're changing their schedule.

OOC win percentage is good. But obviously, you have to remember that those outside the power conferences HAVE to go play teams on the road to try and impress.

Those are harder to win. Back in the ECAC days, St. Bonaventure vs Syracuse was 60-40 Syracuse. We beat them at our place 3 out of 5, they won 2 of 3 neutral, and they won 4 of 6 at home. Once they blackballed us from the Big East, it was 100% Syracuse because they set the terms. They only played us at home. And they only wanted to play us when we were down.

Somewhere I've got data on A-10 candidates from a couple years ago... I could give that a polish.

Matrix had them at 10 seed before the loss. We'll see how it goes for them.

Would love to see the AAC tourney attendance figures. Too funny.

Good point about St Mary’s. If the committee wants to make a point about SOS, St Mary’s is the poster child since theirs is somewhere around 165. With an RPI in the 40’s, their position is far from secure. I don’t see any way that BYU gets a bid.

Davidson about to upset Rhode Island. Goodbye Marquette!

Good year for the A-10. They figured out a way to squeeze three bids despite a terrible non-conference record

Would be sorta funny if Davidson just stole Bonnies bid.

Embargoed!

I saw a box score for one of the games somewhere that claimed 7 or 8 thousand, which is ridiculously inflated.
