Veterans Day, Nov 11th, has one Big East game. 99th anniversary of the First World War armistice.
Saturday Nov 11th 2017:
#14 Notre Dame at DePaul, 4pm.
Opening game at DePaul's new Wintrust Arena in Chicago, matching up 2 historic rivals. DePaul i think will be much better this year. The Irish still have Bonzie Colson, but Visturia and Auguste and others have moved on, and i don't know their roster. Is their #14 ranking just a lazy default favor to Brey based on past seasons? Will ND be distracted due to their football game vs Miami of Florida?

AP probably got basketball and football confused when they automatically gave ND a preseason ranking.

They all seem to be high on Max Strus, and all think the Wintrust has too few urinals...

Both teams struggling offensively.

DePaul's offensive struggles are at least partially self-inflicted. Strus especially has been taking some really ill-advised shots. Maric looks like he'd struggle to walk and chew gum at the same time.
ND's a good defensive team, so it's not all on DePaul, but the Demons are making things too easy on the Irish defense. Effort is definitely there, and the fact that DePaul actually has a home atmosphere is good to see.
Of course after I type this, Maric finally hits a shot.
