I would like to point out the fact that Stever has badmouthed many on here, in addition to also taking his one-man crusade against all those who root for and support the Big East, to the other site as well. Not even Frank was able to pump reason into him.

Heck, in the inactive Big East forum over there, he has a whole thread entitled "Stevers Thoughts" that is approaching 15 pages.

I realize you cannot argue with insanity, but when is it enough?

Stever needs to go. I know, block his post but everyone still quotes him when they respond. He makes this board very difficult to read and brings nothing to the board. Please ban him. He does not like any thing about the Big East.

This is a key general takeaway from his posts:

The original intent was to try to convince everyone that the Big East was ready to sink into the abyss with the MAAC.

Now the goal (not sure, it's kind of muddy and flexible) is to try to convince everyone that we're not as good as the ACC and Big Ten.

So his own window has shifted.

The same can be said of him vs FS1, which he was convinced would fail. Now 4 years later we're discussing them in comparison to the ESPN mothership.

And like was mentioned in the 2018 Recruits thread, the Big East has accomplished everything during this era of out-of-control rampant football-school cheating. And with our NY, Chicago and DC teams having slumps.

Brothers, it's only getting better from here.

Ok, also, tough to keep up with everything...

...but the part about manipulating schedules to get better conf W-L records and therefore more bids is, of course, not true, or not to be trusted...

2009 Providence:
10-8 (11-9 including BET) in the 16-team Big East.
We did NOT make the NCAA's.
Wins vs:
St John's 6-12.
DePaul 0-18.
Cincinnati 8-10.
Cincinnati again, 8-10.
Seton Hall 7-11.
#15 Syracuse 11-7 at home.
South Florida 4-14.
Rutgers 2-16.
#1 Pitt 15-3 at home.
Rutgers again 2-16.
in BET, DePaul again, 0-18.

So, what did we learn? The Friars won 9 games against sucky teams, getting useless wins vs dregs like South Florida, DePaul, Rutgers. There is a lesson in there somewhere... maybe don't manipulate things, but instead be honest, play tough hoops, let the chips fall where they may, don't force going to 20 games just to match the ACC dimwits, focus on the enjoyment of playing in a Top-3 conference with hoops as our primary focus, the deepet and most exciting conference in the country, and mark your calendars for mid-March every year for 4 days in midtown Manhattan in The World's Most Famous Arena... does it get any better than this???
