Kudos to the Hall...they have that perfect blend of a solid backcourt, great frontcourt, experience, a stable head coach, and hopefully health. They have all the makings of a deep team in March, just need to go out and do it. I was particularly disappointed when Seton Hall went out immediately in the tourney this past year because I knew their potential. Anything worse than a Sweet 16 would be a big disappointment IMO and that's a compliment to them. I expect the Hall to be ranked all year. Still amazing to me how we stopped recruiting Delgado and he's EXACTLY what we need at SJ right now. Kid is an absolute monster.

How many times does it needs to be said, Delgado was "handed" to Seton Hall because of his affiliation to Oliver Antigua? Don't let facts continue to get in the way of your narrative.

This is widely known, and, as I stated, been mentioned many times.

Dauster either flips negatively or flops affectionately. Ranting against his fav topics or fawning over offensive tackles, "pay for play" in college hoops, and his annual "hoops darlings". Here he's fawning...

Ol' Rob is more optimistic than gitmo if he thinks SH or X has a FF shot. Both struggled all season and scraped into the dance, paint dangling from both rear fenders as the NCAA doors were closing. SH rode Delgado back above .500 and X clawed up to.500 to end the regular season.

More power to Xavier as they peaked in the Dance-all the way to the EE, SH did a 1&Out.

Both have a great cast of characters returning, but are we due for a repeat of last season? Yep. Can Bluiett and Delgado "carry" these clubs, again. Nah. X's non-con exposes all their flaws. SH still must learn to play together and develop a good team chemistry, less hero ball.

As old St'verrrr would say: "Sorry, but old Robbie D. got your hopes n hormones excited for naught." Same as last season for SH...and a bit less for the Muskies.

Does it really make a huge difference how you get in the Dance? Methinks not. Looking forward to seeing the Jays in the EE sometime....or not?

Agreed that it doesn't really matter how you get into the dance. If you are a top 5 team all year and sleepwalk your way in then great. But it's like the playoffs in baseball...find a way to get there and anything can happen, just have to punch your ticket. Get a decent enough seed, get a good 1st round draw, then if there's a major upset you can get lucky and play a much worse opponent when you were supposed to play a much better team originally in the 2nd round. It's also about peaking at the right time. Some teams scrap along all year then finally put it together for 2-3 games in the tourney.

The thing is, a lot of times it's better if you did just get in the tourney than a team that is slightly more comfortable. Being a 10-12 seed is much better than being a 8 or 9 seed because you DO have a chance to not play a higher seeded team in rd 2. Considering there's never been a 1/16 upset- that's why. There's a reason why 10-12 seed teams have been to the sweet 16 more than 8 and 9 seeds combined....
8/9 combined 18 times
10 seeds 23 times
11 seeds 20 times
12 seeds 20 times

heck, more 13 seeds have made the sweet 16 than 9 seeds (6 to 5).

No offense, but Creighton fans have no experience advancing in the tournament, so you really don't know what it takes.

Non-con exposes flaws? What? Last year X had 3 non-con losses, all on the road. Most losses in Big East play were a result of two of the team's best players out because of injury, Sumner and Blueitt. X makes the dance, I think, 17 of the last 20 years. During that time we have 3 EEs and multiple Sweet Sixteen appearances. Sounds like gtmoBlue has a serious case of jealousy.

I love this league and cheer for everyone post Big East play. Best of luck to Creighton this year.

But I so want to find out. No offense taken. Looking forward to another great season of Big East basketball.
