More power to Xavier as they peaked in the Dance-all the way to the EE,
MullinMayhem wrote:Agreed that it doesn't really matter how you get into the dance. If you are a top 5 team all year and sleepwalk your way in then great. But it's like the playoffs in baseball...find a way to get there and anything can happen, just have to punch your ticket. Get a decent enough seed, get a good 1st round draw, then if there's a major upset you can get lucky and play a much worse opponent when you were supposed to play a much better team originally in the 2nd round. It's also about peaking at the right time. Some teams scrap along all year then finally put it together for 2-3 games in the tourney.

Ol' Rob is more optimistic than gitmo if he thinks SH or X has a FF shot. Both struggled all season and scraped into the dance, paint dangling from both rear fenders as the NCAA doors were closing. SH rode Delgado back above .500 and X clawed up to.500 to end the regular season.
More power to Xavier as they peaked in the Dance-all the way to the EE, SH did a 1&Out.
Both have a great cast of characters returning, but are we due for a repeat of last season? Yep. Can Bluiett and Delgado "carry" these clubs, again. Nah. X's non-con exposes all their flaws. SH still must learn to play together and develop a good team chemistry, less hero ball.
As old St'verrrr would say: "Sorry, but old Robbie D. got your hopes n hormones excited for naught." Same as last season for SH...and a bit less for the Muskies.

No offense, but Creighton fans have no experience advancing in the tournament, so you really don't know what it takes.
