Michigan State avoids a game for the third year in a row (yet to participate), but we - thankfully - avoid Rutgers/Penn State. Georgetown gets skipped in a rebuilding year too. I think this is the best schedule of Gavitt Games yet, IMO. Both conferences - appear - to avoid the very bottom of each league next year, and protect the top program as well (MSU/Nova).

I love our matchup with Purdue. That will be a great game.

Eh, I definitely wouldn't call it the best schedule of the Gavitt Games. Nothing really jumps off the page. Wisconsin and Xavier maybe just cause of the 2016 NCAA game (although Wisconsin will be down this year).

2015 there were some regional rivalries/matchups in Georgetown/Maryland; St Johns/Rutgers
2016 was Creighton/Wisconsin and Georgetown/Maryland again plus Villanova/Purdue

Not saying this year is bad. Some nice matchups but nothing that'd would make me say Wow! This is the best year yet

I love the match up with the corn huskers. Winnable game for us.

Big news for DePaul. Illinois and DePaul have not played each other since 1957.

Too bad that one is in Champaign. It would make too much sense to have Illinois play at DePaul with the new Arena opening this year and all of the Illinois alum in Chicago

Is that really true. That is unthinkable. Wow!

Well, 5 of the 8 matchups features teams that both were in the NCAA Tournament last year. Too bad a Michigan State is not at Villanova.
