Fixed it. Good call. Yea he'll compete with Sean and Tyrique. Impossible to know how that will work itself out

It works out if K Jones is a possible RS

You will see a mix of all these players as many except for Cartwright play multiple positions.

You think Ashton-Langford doesn't start?

That's a good question, my guess is he sees lots of time at both guard positions but who sits? Diallo really came into his own once inserted and was a big reason for our end of season surge. Plus Cooley always has a player or two make a jump. My money's on it being him this year. Then what, can't sit either Senior leader Lindsey or Cartwright.
This team is easily the most talented skilled team PC has had since 97 so it's a good problem to have.

Depending on how the bigs play we may switch to a smaller lineup with gates at the four and jones at the five or maybe another freshman in one of the guard spots

I just don't think Xavier will ever play two bigs like you have projected.

PG: Goodin, Scruggs
G: Scruggs, Macura, Hardin
Wing: Macura, Bluiett, Marshall, Hardin, Ridder
Forward: Bluiett, Gates, Marshall, Hardin, Ridder, Kanter
Center: Jones, O'Mara, Kanter

Redshirt: Kentravious Jones

Trevon played the four pretty much all last year with Edmond playing Pg. When Ed went down Trevon played the four with Malcolm on the wing. He has a mismatch at that spot, spaces the floor, and is strong enough to guard other teams forwards.

Paul Scruggs is more talented then Malcolm and didn't come to Xavier to sit on the bench.

I agree 100% with this depth chart. I don't think Mack has one care in the world to go back to 2 bigs but we'll see. Also I'm wondering if Bluiett leaves if Marshall will start from day one with Scruggs. That would be two straight years where Xavier has 2 freshman starting.

How Butler looks like to me:

PG: Jorgensen/Thompson With Baldwin or Butler bringing the ball up at times or most of the time if Thompson and Jorgenson aren't cutting it.
SG: Baldwin/David/Neese
SF: Martin/Young/Baddley/McDermott/Butler David could swap in here also with his size
PF/C: Wideman/Fowler/Brunk With Young Playing PF at times possible

Could play a 1,2,3,4,5 type of game and then switch to small ball with one in and 4 out with all the long wings and shooters coming in... Won't know much until we find out who is BE ready in the early games and practices! (Talent abounds, but do we pull it into a team this year in time to make some noise?)

It'll be interesting to see who earns the minutes out of the three of them.

I'm curious to see what other Jays fans think, but our depth chart relies on if we can land Tugs Bowen and/or Tremont Waters. Here's my prediction of depth charts with both, one of them, and neither.
Lands Bowen and Waters
PG: Waters/Joseph, Mintz, Clement
SG/2: Foster, Ballock/Alexander, Thomas
G/F/3: Thomas, Bowen, Ballock/Alexander, Foster, Harrell
F/4: Bowen, Harrell, Krampelj, Hegner
C/5: Hegner, Suarez, Krampelj, Epperson (RS)?
If we get Tugs but not Waters, Joseph and Mintz will battle for the starting PG spot, and I think Tugs will start at the four in CU's offense. If they land Waters but not Tugs, I can see Waters coming and starting right away at PG, and if no Tugs I'd like to see Ronnie Harrell start at the 4.

Roster stays how it is now
PG: Joseph/Mintz, Clement
SG/2: Foster, Ballock/Alexander, Thomas, Mintz
G/F/3: Thomas, Ballock/Alexander, Harrell
F/4: Harrell, Krampelj, Hegener
C/5: Hegner, Suarez, Krampelj, Epperson (RS)?

Heck, can old gtmo play? Let's see here now...

Lands Bowen and Waters (13 scholies)

PG: Joseph, Mintz, Waters (Possibility that Waters might start.) Clement - rides pine.
SG/2: Foster, Alexander, Ballock
G/F/3: Tugs, Thomas, Ballock (High Probability that Tugs starts)
F/4: Harrell, Krampelj, Hegner (spot play)
C/5: Suarez, Hegner, Krampelj (spot play), Dunkum (in early games and blowouts), Epperson (RS)

If we get Tugs but not Waters, Joseph and Mintz will battle for the starting PG spot, and I think Tugs will start at the 3 in CU's offense.
If we land Waters but not Tugs, I can see Waters coming and possibly starting right away at PG.

Roster (11 man) stays how it is now

PG: Mintz, Joseph, Clement
SG/2: Foster, Alexander, Ballock
G/F/3: Thomas, Ballock
F/4: Harrell, Krampelj
C/5: Suarez, Hegner, Krampelj, Epperson (RS)

Either way we get the best productivity from the lineup.
Leaving Thomas at the 3 only in order to have an experienced lineup across the board for spot play.
Just git's normal optimistic take...

By the by - Jays ink both Tugs and Waters... ;)

Butler will be:

1. Thompson (freshman)
2. Baldwin (sophomore)
3. Martin (senior)
4. Young (freshman)
5. Wideman (senior)

6. Fowler
7. Jorgensen
8. Neese (probably first bench guard at some point)
9. One of the small forwards (There's 4, but one will surely redshirt) I tend to think Butler will end up here
