Great news for SHU!

While not yet officially announced to my knowledge, it appears that Angel Delgado will not return for his senior year.

If his goal is the NBA, very poor choice. If its to make money overseas, best of luck. This probably knocks Seton Hall to middle of the pack Big East/bubble team IMO.

It's overseas. I think the only question is Europe or back home to the DR.

Barring a surprise from Trevon Duval (which this makes even more unlikely), this likely drops the Hall into the bottom half of the league.

I think calling this bad news is an understatement. Duvall sounds like a Duke lock too which is insult to injury but you never know with high school kids. The problem for Seton Hall is 2-8 is the Big East is so close a loss like Delgado can be the difference between coming in second in the conference to playing on Wednesday in the Big East tournament.

Though now it sounds like the goal is the NBA - though I don't think that's realistic. It sounds like some shady agent got in his ear about how Isaiah Whitehead got drafted last year as a long shot and convinced Angel that the same will happen for him.

Delgado looks like a 10 yr NBA role player to me. Anyone that can run and rebound like him should be able to get minutes.

I just don't know where he fits in the NBA. He's undersized for a 5 and not athletic enough for a 4. As great as a rebounder as he is, the guy can't jump over a stick. His rebounding success is all about positioning and having a fantastic feel for how the ball's going to come off the rim and where it'll end up. That is a skill that can translate, but he's still going to have a tougher time playing against guys that are bigger and more athletic than him - the same type of guys he struggled with in college, Daniel Ochefu pretty much owned him. I also think he'll struggle on the offensive end in the NBA. His role would pretty much be to get the offensive board and kick it back out.

I hope I'm wrong and he goes on to have a great NBA career, but I'm skeptical about this decision. Hopefully he has some sort of guarantee the way Isaiah Whitehead did.

Position and position numbers mean nothing in the NBA and they are starting to mean nothing in College. Angel can play no matter what position number us experts want to assign him.
