Xavier's in on enough guys that even if you don't get option 1, options 2-4 are usually high 3 and 4 star players as well. Plus it's only late July, still plenty of time to get some guys on board.

At least you're not in Butler's position. I'm just hopeful they can get any of the guys they currently have targeted.

saw this....

Recruiting update: Jahvon Quinerly the no.16 overall player in the class of 2018 tells ESPN that he will make his college decision tonight during the SC30 Select Showcase game on ESPNU starting at 9pm EST. His final two schools are Arizona and Villanova.
Paul Biancardi, Basketball Recruiting

would be a huge get for Nova. would give them what 3 top 60 players? top 10 class you would think if they could get them....

All predictions point to Arizona unfortunately....

Quinerly is a very disappointing one for the Big East as for months he'd been considered a heavy Villanova lean with Seton Hall supposedly having a chance as well. I expected to lose out on him to Nova - it's much more disappointing to see him leaving the conference completely.

Quinerly going to AZ gives MU a much better shot at grimes

If you have a great recruiting year, you're more likely to have an off year following that, as potential recruits realize that the path to significant playing time may be clogged ahead of them. When you play a lot of seniors (Seton Hall this coming season for example), potential recruits are more likely to sign on. Of course, the true bluebloods (KU, UK, UNC, Duke, and maybe a few others) only recruit guys who think they are better than anyone to begin with, and they all have one-and-dones leaving every year, so those schools are attractive destinations year after year, and they're somewhat immune to the bad year follows a good year pattern.
Given X's best rated recruiting class ever in 2017, I'd expect next year's class to be weaker.

Mack will get the one or two guys he needs and with the insane transfer market, I'm sure he can attract another one or two who want to play in the dance every year. I'm not a fan of filling all 13 schollies. Hold a couple in reserve.

so looking at the recruiting so far this year....
only 7 4 star guys signed so far

at this point last year(looking at it was posted on 8/29 last year), Big East had 10 4 star guys

What is interesting about this year is that already of the 111 4/5 star guys around, a whopping 52 are already signed.

and looking at the 2017 thread-from a post I did on 9/7
top 50 guys-
2017 class- 15 guys signed
2018 class- 24 guys signed

51-100 guys-
2017 class- 26 guys signed
2018 class- 24 guys signed

so top 100-
2017- 41 guys signed
2018- 48 guys signed
and this is 8 days earlier.

so there are far more guys signed this year nationwide vs last year.

This class is starting off pretty slowly for the Big East.

I think we'll be just fine Stever. Recruiting is not a problem when you are a P6 hoops conference. Now take a look outside the P6 if you want to be an alarmist about recruiting.

so you don't think having 3 fewer guys even though there are a lot fewer guys left is a problem?

And what's big is who doesn't have much yet.... Seton Hall has no one. Georgetown has no one. You can act like it's really early, but the fact of the matter is that it's really not. Especially given how many of the 4/5 star guys are already gone. There's only 59 4/5 star guys left.... And Duke/Kansas/Kentucky have exactly 2 guys right now, and you know they'll get theirs. For whatever reason, this years class seems to be committing a whole lot earlier than normal.....

The 1 good thing with the class that I would say- the coaches in the Big East seem to be really solid now, so probably no March coaching changes with the corresponding re-opening of the guys who committed early.
