It's kind of crazy to say this in college basketball because odds are srong that at least 2-3 of the guys will transfer after the season. I'd say that about any team and looking at their roster in mid July for next year.

I agree. Under Wojo (and even more so under Buzz), MU has had its fare share of transfers. Since Wojo was hired, we have lost Deonte Burton, Steve Taylor, John Dawson, Traci Carter, Sandy Cohen and Duane Wilson. That's an average of 1-2 per year. Each was a different situation (Burton and Taylor didn't fit the new philosophy, Dawson and Cohen weren't playing at all, Carter saw the writing on the wall for future playing time, and Wilson was a grad transfer and knew he would be crunched for minutes). Bottom line, the program under Wojo hasn't lost a great player due to transfer. The best players dictate playing time. So, whomever is the odd man out will ultimately probably leave.

The fun thing to also consider is that we are still going hard after Quentin Grimes. While our scholarship limit is now filled for 18-19, we are recruiting with the expectation that we will be losing someone (likely due to the magnitude of transfers in college basketball).

Bottom line, never stop recruiting.

Didn't want to make a new thread for this, so posting here seemed most appropriate. I think the Mullin administration has definitely proven they can identify studs on the basketball court. The scouting seems to be a strength so far. For SJ to take the next step and actually make the top 25 consistently and go deep in tournaments, not only will they need to identify top players but close the deal and get commitments. Nasir Little is a recruit we got in on early...the way things are going he may even be a McDonald's All American type player. He's likely going to be a consensus 5 star player very soon. The real question will be if the staff can close on these top notch recruits. IMO we will have to get early commitments from these types of players, since we all know after years recruiting these kids, Kentucky and Duke come in at the 11th hour and swipe them after barely having them on their radar.

Xavier's 2018 class might take a small downturn from our top 10 2017 class.

We have already missed on most of our big targets and have 0 commits for 2018 I believe.

I wouldn't be too concerned...Xavier is one of those teams that seems to find a way to compete even if they don't get 5 star guys. They clearly have a system that works.
