2018 Recruiting Class Could Be The Best Yet

2017 class isn't done yet, and think we'll still get another top recruit or two, but off to a nice start in the 2018 class from the teams at the bottom of our conference.

DePaul picked up Tyger Campbell today, who is currently in the 2019 class but will reclassify to the 2018 class. Ranked #49 in the 2019 class on 247.

SJU picked up Boubacar Diakite earlier this year, currently 4* and #109. SJU also in on #78 Sidney Wilson and a few other top 100 recruits.

I know it's early which means there hasn't been time for recruits to cut teams off lists but Xavier is in a real good spot with a few higher rated recruits. I know I said this before but the Big East has raised Xavier's recruiting so much and this could be Xavier's first season starting all 4 star recruits and the recruiting is still on the up and up.

He's already submitted several posts about how this will be the worst class ever, however the mods didn't approve them yet.

SJU currently hosting #90 Sidney Wilson. They're the leader on 247:

Great move by the mods. How long can they legally keep his posts in limbo? Is forever an option? ;)

But since he's an AAC fanboy, recruiting doesnt matter when u talk about them, they will have 2 or 3 teams in the preseason top 25!

Latest is that it's a 2 horse race between SJ and UConn for top 100 SF Sidney Wilson of the Bronx. Apparently him and his family want him to stay home but his AAU coaches are pushing UConn. The kid is 6'7 175 lbs which is concerning since 95% of our team looks like they're starving well below 200 lbs even approaching 7 feet but we are absolutely desperate for any height at this point. I just do not understand why our recruiting seems to have completely fallen off...this is what happened to Lavin. All was going fine then boom, recruiting tanked. Some say Lavin was lazy, some say Matt A needs help because he can't do it alone...I say that kids are now calling our bluff. We've been hyped up constantly as a darkhorse contender in the Big East. In 2011 ESPN said we'd make the Elite 8, in some other Lavin years there were talks of a Sweet 16. Our hype almost never pans out. I think they notice this now. Either that or they realize we are unable to develop players as a program. Whatever it is, something is going on. Imagine being a 3 star big man looking to play on the big stage at MSG on national TV every game with NBA hall of famer's coaching, tons of PT available, and a team ready to win now with arguably the best guard trio in the country if Simon is as good as advertised. How can you not come? Not 1? Something is very fishy in Queens.

I personally believe that PC's 18 class is setting up to be one of it's best classes ever on paper.
