You just think they're going to implode, and that's not realistic by any stretch. They'll fall off, but they're still likely to make the tourney.

Unless they're coached by Lorenzo Romar.

Yeah, well, there is that. Jankovich seems to be a pretty good coach with SMU.

Who said SMU was going to implode?

This is about you, Stever. You are a Big East "fan" but if a Big East team that didn't even win an NCAA tournament game last year lost 3 of their 4 top scorers, it would be doom and gloom from Stever world. But according to Stever, they are a fringe Top 25 team.

Again, odd behavior for a Big East fan.

And the 1 top scorer that is returning is the point guard. And college basketball is a point guards game. If you have good guards, you do pretty well for yourself. Lunardi has them as a 5 seed in his most recent bracketology after all the NBA decisions were made. So 5 seed means 17-20. Now I don't think they're that high to be honest.

That's because he isn't a Big East fan.

Didn't St. John's have one of the best back court duo's in the country, let alone the BE? How far did that get them? You have to have a great guard play, but you won't be successful if that is all you have.

Two freshmen (on the smallish side) whom was still on a retooling roster. Let's leave out all important, logical, and factual details.

And then there's the 2016-2017 version of the Xavier Musketeers who reached the Elite Eight with an early-season little used Freshman point guard with no back-up and only one guy (Macura) who consistently played the 2-guard position. Malcolm Bernard played the 2 when JP took a breather (otherwise he was at the 3): Trevon B played the 2 when he wasn't playing the 3 or 4. When PG Quentin Goodin was out of the game, the Muskies struggled with JP and Trevon bringing the ball up court.

And yet they made the Elite Eight beating three teams with much better seeds than Xavier. Xavier 1 - Stever 0.
