The single best thing that happened to Nova is getting invited to the Big East.

Indiana does it every year. Its actually this weekend. They just do not let the mids and lows play, its just Notre Dame, Butler, Indiana, and Purdue. (As an aside, Butler dominates this event)

Iowa does it like the Big 5 - egalitarian style.

Exactly. There are other ideas floating around so we're not stuck with 4 Big 5 games. No other solid power conference school is engaged in perpetual H&Hs with 1 medicore high-major and 3 mid-major programs. This is straight up charity.

Columbia or Lafayette wouldn't even get 2 for 1 from Nova, let alone H&H. The Big 5 is better off leveraging Nova's status into a weekend mini-tournament, or what they do in Indiana with maybe even a triple header instead of DH.

For years Iowa did it like the Big 5 - an annual round robin with all four Iowa D1 programs, but it's since been watered down to an annual game only between Iowa and Iowa State, and an annual game in which Northern Iowa and Drake get a chance to take a shot at Iowa OR Iowa State (not both - I think it switches every year) on a neutral court. Of course, Drake and Northern Iowa are both in the Valley and play each other twice every year in conference play.

Temple loses, Nova wins! A Stever nightmare haha. Looking at the AAC standings this year, many of the teams took several punches to the gut already in OOC. Part of what separates the Big East from the AAC is the ability to consistently dominate in OOC. The AAC isn't really major except for a few teams at the top, so that's why you will always see the bad losses from the mid major teams of their conference. Cincy is on life support in the top 25. Any slip up and they are out. That would leave them with 1 ranked team #3 Wichita State...who also lost already and I think they will get some blemishes in conference play.

I knew of the Big 5 of course, but had no idea the games were all home and home series. That is ridiculous. That is a decent amount of lost revenue.

Penn has plenty of money. Nova plays the home games on campus in Radnor, not the WFA. There's no lost revenues.
