UConn wins by 7 but even with the win, it's a loss. Any real FBS team wins this 42-10. It's all about perception and games like this hurt recruiting even more. Just goes to show once again that UConn is a fake on the FBS scene.

UConn was losing at home to Holy Cross 20-7 late 3rd quarter. Huskies took the lead early 4th, but under 4 minutes the Cross had the ball at the Connecticut 13, down by 7. Not a good showing from UConn.

Anything can happen in sports, but it is very possible that last night's victory will be the only win for UConn this season. Holy Cross was a 4-7 FCS team last year. For all perception purposes, this was the definition of a buy game, and they very well (should) have lost being down 20-7 at halftime. Their remaining schedule is: USF, Virginia, SMU, Memphis, Temple, Tulsa, Missouri, ECU, UCF, Boston College and Cincinnati. The sad thing about UConn and their football program is that they don't have time to rebuild. They are out of time. They have been at the bottom of American football for the past four years, and they are coming off the two worst hires in program history. If they are unable to turn it around it around with Edsall, they will be guaranteed of once again being left out of a realignment shift in the coming years (after already being left out in 2016, 2013 and 2005).

This has to be a brutal situation for the athletic departments of those schools and for their fans.

The equally tragic and comical aspect of this is how some of their fans are reacting to the current reality. By any logical person's conclusion, barely getting past HC can only be characterized as a catastrophe.

It just seems as though it is going to be increasingly difficult to tread water for as long as they will need to tread it until the next round of realignment, whatever that becomes, takes place.

Obviously this stings, but word in the street is that UConn stayed in his ear constantly even after signing the NLI with us. We had the option to prevent him from going to UConn but didn't to avoid the negative press. UConn is still not going to make the tourney unless they totally overachieve. Either way even if they make it, they are not the same program clearly. On a positive note, I think we escaped a ton of headaches with Wilson. I understand he lost his mother but he just seems like the type of kid who would give headaches based on his attitude. Apparently he avoided workouts and was not warming up to the guys on the team in his short stay here. I'd rather a 3 star kid with great character than a 4 star athletic kid who has a bad attitude and kills chemistry. Plus, Wilson's too skinny...we need to start adding bulk...someone as built as Clark but 6'8+. Yes it's a bad look for the program, but I think we escaped a big pain in our side. This really puts pressure on us to land Muhammad and others.

It's worth noting that in the last decade and a half of realignment, only three schools successfully moved from a "Non-Power 5" football conference to a "Power 5" Football Conference.

1.) Louisville from Conference USA to the ACC.
2.) TCU from Conference USA to the Big 12.
3.) Utah from the Mountain West to the Pac-12.

That's it. All the other realignment moves in power football conferences were the old six BCS conferences trading amongst themselves.

Boston College from Big East to ACC
Virginia Tech from Big East to ACC
Pittsburgh from Big East to ACC
Syracuse from Big East to ACC
