Creghton will play UCLA in first round of CBE Classic. Other side of bracket is Baylor/Wisconsin. Nice marquee matchup for Creighton in what should be a very pro Creighton crowd.

Saw Marquette gets VCU in rd 1 of Maui. rd 2 would be Wichita St/Cal. ND/Chaminade and Michigan/LSU in the other half of the bracket.

Virginia Tech will play Saint Louis and Providence will face Washington in the first round of the 2017 2K Sports Classic

Looks like PC is the 1 seed if you will here.

Very glad we didn't get either Michigan or LSU again. VCU is a nice new matchup that should be competitive. I think it'll be competitive, but I think MU wins that game, loses to Wichita State and then faces Michigan in what would be a toss up. VCU lost a lot from last year, and have a bunch of transfers coming. Their incoming freshmen are not impact players.

Chaminade University of Honolulu (CUH) - Wikipedia

CUH speaks, being out of Maui Invitational every other year - Chaminade Silversword [student news site] - November 7, 2016
Chaminade University, the long-time host of the Maui Invitational, will only be participating every other season, starting with the 2017 tournament. This news, announced in late October, has angered many Chaminade students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the Chaminade basketball team itself.

In 2018, Chaminade will not play in the Maui Invitational in Lahaina but will travel to a mainland opponent’s arena and play in what the tournament calls an “opening round.” The Swords will do this every other year. In odd years, they will compete in the eight-team Maui Invitational.

As you already know, the 2017 Maui Invitational Bracket was released on July 18th, and shows Chaminade playing Notre Dame in the first round.

Interesting bracket. Setting up a West Virginia really either Nebraska or UCF semi final on one side, and then hoping for a St John's/Missouri semi final on the other side.

A huge 1st game for St John's. In these tourneys that 1st game is such a big one for getting the improved SOS. I mean- huge difference between Missouri and then one of WVU/Nebraska/UCF or getting Long Beach State and then one of Marist/Nebraska/UCF.
