Possibly the final Big East tip-off of Round One, depending on the Providence play-in game on Wednesday.

Friday 3/17/2017
Marquette v South Carolina, 9:50pm.

South Carolina I think is a good team, and Frank Martin is a solid coach though he acts like a loony toon sometimes. I can picture Marquette draining a dozen 3's in the first 10 minutes, which will turn Frank Martin into a swarming fire of purple-faced rage, which will lead to a Gamecock total collapse and a 35 point Marquette win.

Of course, Marquette got hosed here, having to play a road game. My memory is a little off maybe, but have any of the 10 of us ever played a home game in the NCAA tourney? Why do Big East teams get screwed on this so much?

This one will be must-watch TV. Marquette has been lighting it up but South Carolina has some of the best defense I have seen all year. Go Warriors!

Marquette will be favored in this game, despite being a #10.

I always feel like the Big East gets screwed when it comes to seeding, locations, etc. Also, why were 3 of our 7 teams placed into one region? Not very balanced.....

South Carolina is not playing a "home" game. They are in the same state, but Greenville, not Columbia.
Greenville is actually more of a Clemson home site; they're only 30 miles away.

But the reason they are all here is because the state of North Carolina lost the game due to their politicians.

I think South Carolina is a tough team, though I know they've been slumping lately. To me, this would be a really impressive win for Marquette.

And I think SC will definitely get an advantage playing in their home state. The arena is like 100 miles from campus. If this game was played in Green Bay, 120 miles away, then Marquette would have a huge advantage.

Not a home game? Yes, not their home court but certainly will be a home town crowd. USC is the state's flgahip university with fans all over the state, not just in the town where they're physically located. And even fansfrom Columbia can drive an hour and a half to Greenville just like Villanova fans showing up at MSG.
