Nova didn't do its part, but we're at 12 now, or nearly $20M.

Who would've guessed the newbies are now carrying the conference flag?

13 would take probably a big upset- either Butler over UNC or Xavier over Arizona.

If it's 12- it shows the folly of folks who think getting 7 in is just so important. The 12 would be the EXACT same number of units as last year with only 5 teams in.

I'm just curious; are you a graduate of, or a fan of, any school in the Big East conference?

It certainly doesn't look like "folly" to think getting 7 teams into the tournament is important.

Exactly the opposite. Getting in is precisely what saved the conference in the face of Villanova's unexpected early exit. Disappointments like that are going to be a lot more common than having a team win a NC.

Yes, getting fewer teams works out great... when it includes a national champion. But you can't bank on that every year.

Getting 7/10 in is pretty much going to be just as rare as getting a national title for this league. So yeah, getting as many teams in the tournament as possible to maximize the league's revenue? I'm not sure why we'd want to complain about that.

Teams and matchups win games in the tournament, but getting 7 teams into the tournament shows just how strong this league is from top to bottom. Is it really elite at the top outside of Nova? No, not yet, but the league is doing well even as one of its most well-known programs is struggling.

Stever again coming across as an absolute moron. Do you believe the stuff you post or do you just try and be subtle troll? I still can't figure out why you post on this site and not one for the AAC.

Pretty much. Seeding > # of teams argument is flimsy at best, and surely wouldn't have helped us this year.

If anyone's disappointed, the culprit is Creighton and Nova not being able to recover from missing pieces. We've had pretty bad luck being 0-3 in nail biters. We've had our chances and it is what it is.
