I actually felt like, until the past few minutes, Marquette was playing a great game. They were generating a ton of open looks, but just weren't hitting their threes the way they normally do. This game's far from over. Marquette always has the potential to get hot from 3 and if they do, they're right back in it.

Side note...should have follow-dunk by Fischer have been basket interference?

It's an easy fix that doesn't take a lot of effort. The 1v8/9 game is the second game in the first double header. Boom done. No real advantage to anyone and you give the 8/9 team at least a little bit more of actual rest.

I was wondering about this too, but decided that they wanted to give the one seed the advantage we are discussing. No real reason otherwise to have the 1&2 play the early game at each session.

Delgado 1 assist shy of a triple-double. Not looking like he's gonna get it if Marquette fouls the rest of the way though.

Thank goodness the Pirates hit their free throws because wow...Marquette certainly got hot from deep in the last 2 minutes.

I agree with NJRedman. 1 vs. 8/9 should be the second game (2:30pm) in the first doubleheader based on the reason(s) he gave. If the 8/9 winner has to play at 'noon, then why does the 7/10 winner receives the 7pm game? They should play at 2:30pm, if the 8/9 winner has to play at 'noon, right?

Actually, I'd be all for the 1 vs. 8/9 winner at 7pm and the 2 vs. 7/10 winner playing at 9:30pm. That's a similar format the ACC implements for their tournament.

At least someone agrees with me lol. That's the exact idea I presented that got shot down pretty quick for the reason that the 1 and 2 seeds (should they win) would be on a few hours less rest than the 4/5 and 3/6 winners in the semifinals.

That was an amazing display by The Hall - 14 consecutive free throws in the last 2 minutes.

I picked Marquette to win this game specifically because I expected Seton Hall's poor free throw shooting to cost them in a close game. Obviously Wojo did too because he kept fouling them.

To Seton Hall's credit, they made their free throws and won the game. Survive and advance.

You don't want potentially non competitive games in the evening. Had Villanova been blowing away SJU in an evening game, America would be switching to watch the other leagues play. Fox would rather that happen in the afternoon, when few are watching anyway.

Then why put the 7/10 winner on against the 2-seed at night?
