They truly believe that their ability to throw a lot of money at someone will turn their miserable, unhappy bball culture around. Well, that attitude will buy them a successful someone who values money above all else, but then they'll blame him and fire him when he doesn't win big in 2-3 years. OMIGOD, we're INDIANA; how can this be happening to us?
News flash: it takes time to turn around a declining program -- hello!
LSU and Will Wade have agreed to a six-year deal for Wade to take over the Tigers men's basketball program, sources confirmed to The Times-Picayune on Monday night.
ESPN first reported the news. LSU announced the hiring with a tweet later Monday night.
Earlier reports on Monday said Wade was offered a six-year, $12 million deal to coach at his alma mater Clemson before Clemson publicly said coach Brad Brownell would return for the 2017-18 season.
Sources told The Times-Picayune that Wade's salary at LSU will be in the ball park of the Clemson offer.
There are a lot of rumors flying around, but six strong coaches are the only realistic possibilities
UCLA’s Steve Alford, Baylor’s Scott Drew, Butler’s Chris Holtmann, Xavier’s Chris Mack, Wichita State’s Gregg Marshall, or Dayton’s Archie Miller. One of those men will be Indiana’s next coach, I’d bet.

UMass officially announced the hiring of Winthrop's Pat Kelsey as the team's new head coach on Tuesday.
Kelsey, 41, took Winthrop to the NCAA tourney this season, his fifth with the Eagles. He was previously an assistant at Xavier and Wake Forest, where he worked for Skip Prosser.
