Painful loss for the Pirates. Their tourney hopes are on life support without Ish.

Great win by the Johnnies! Pleasantly surprised to see them with 7 BE wins right now. This year wasn't Mullin's real test though. This year, his job was to be mediocre. Success. It was easy to improve from the worst year ever. The real test is next yr when he will have much less room for error. He will be expected to make the tourney and for that to happen, the defense will have to be vastly improved. If he can make the tourney next year, he should be COY. Lavin got us close many times, but we were only easily in 1 year. Close won't be good enough next year. I'm very happy about the improvement, but it's too early to start with the sarcastic "Fire Mullin" posts. Next year will expose him for better or worse.

Marquette would've been in 3rd place with the win. Instead, they're in 7th. Crazy. That game had huge implications.

I put this in the what goes around comes around club. You guys have had our number since you came into the BE and we have had some insane games including an actual bat attacking a player in your house and a thug brother of one of our players coming out of the stands to confront a ref in ours. Today with the condensation was just more of that. It's never been the same between our squads since Austin Croshere hit a 3/4 court shot in the NCAA 20 years ago.

With wins over Xavier and Creighton, Marquette can still finish in 3rd place. 8-)

there (almost) always seems to be something goofy going on when PC-Marquette play. there was a bat one year, a fan walked on court another one. I think there were more.
