Why is a team with a 20 point lead stopping the clock and putting the other team on the line? This is a veteran team. They should know better than that.

What saved them in that game is that they were making their FTs, something they normally don't do. Had they missed FTs down the stretch, they would have lost the game. With a 20 point lead, they never should have put themselves in a position to lose the game. Not in February with their season on the line. It's that kind of erratic play that has me losing faith in them. I was a booster earlier, expecting big things from them.

It means they stopped playing hard, lost focus, whatever you want to call it. I agree, Seton Hall absolutely has a bad habit of not stepping on an opponents throat when they have the chance. On the other hand though, they've also had a habit of recovering and making the needed plays late to win.

The Georgetown game worried me a lot more because the Pirates were never able to get away from them and trailed most of the game. Once again, they did make the plays late to get the win, but the fact that they were never able to get any separation on the scoreboard was a bit discouraging.

Thanks for your thoughts. You know more about Seton Hall than I do. Greatly appreciate the insights.

Gtmo... nice post, well said. Always enjoy your enthusiasm for your Jays. Just an awful turn for you guys (and Xavier) as well this year. There should have been more of a dogfight.

Good luck in the tourney.

Obviously I am rooting for the Cats to win at MSG, but with our depleted lineup I won't be terribly disappointed if we make an early exit and that allows us a little rest prior to the NCAA tourney.

Four teams tied at 10-8 (Providence, Marquette, Creighton, and Seton Hall).

Mini-Conference Standings
Providence (4-2, 2-0 vs. MU, 1-1 vs. CU, 1-1 vs. SH)
Marquette (3-3, 2-0 vs. CU, 0-2 vs. PC, 1-1 vs. SH)
Seton Hall (3-3, 1-1 vs. MU, 1-1 vs. PC, 1-1 vs. CU)
Creighton (2-4, 1-1 vs. PC, 0-2 vs. MU, 1-1 vs. SH)

Providence gets the 3 seed.
Creighton gets the 6 seed.

Marquette and seton Hall split their meetings against each other.

Next tiebreaker is record vs. best-finishing conference team. Marquette went 1-1 against Villanova and Seton Hall went 0-2.

Marquette gets the #4 seed, Seton Hall gets the #5.
