Sumner leads all scorers so I guess the rumors of his being out for the season are inaccurate.

I guess sometimes rumors are just that, rumors. Sumner playing some of his best ball. Our bigs have been unbelievably underwhelming. Case in point Gaston with 0 points, 1 rebound, 2 turnovers, and 3 fouls.

One of my pet peeves is how the rule against kicking the ball is called. The clearly states that it must be intentional. Yet the refs call any ball that hits the foot as a kick.

At 49-39, St John's was working hard to get the score under 10. Good St John's defense created a loose ball. A diving X player through the ball off a St John's player's foot. The foot was clearly planted on the ground. There was nothing remotely close to a kick. The ref gave the ball to X with a new 30 second clock. Macura scored on a reverse lay up. What was potentially an 8 point game became a 12 point game. Good defense was penalized rather than rewarded. It was a momentum killer. I hate that. The refs should know how to call a game properly.

Really bad officiating. Over 60 free throws in the game.

Really sorry to see Sumner get hurt. Great kid, great player.

Creighton and Xavier - two big injury blows.

Stats say Virginia shot 3 FT and Villanova shot 24 FT. Please tell me that's a typo.

Bill, this drives me nuts too. A ball hitting a stationary foot isn't a "kicked" ball.

Rough injury for Sumner tonight... hope he's ok.
