For Providence:
Last I heard, Cartwright is 50/50 for tonight, and may not play. Tendonitis in his knee.
Drew Edwards (another PG option) has also been unavailable with recurring leg problems too.

Of major concern also is that defensive stud Jalen Lindsey hurt his wrist, so he may not go either. Lindsey would have been glued to Eli Cain all night.

So, at PG we'll most likely have freshman Maliek White, who I like a lot. Our backup to White, I would guess, will be Alpha Diallo, another freshman. Diallo has had some great moments, and recently had a huge impact in the Georgetown game and parts of the Creighton game.

For us Friars, I think we just have to bank on our advantage in the frontcourt, just keep feeding Holt, Young and Bullock. My concern is that without Lindsey, DePaul might have Cain go bonkers from deep, in which case we'll be screwed.

Agree. Sumner gave us some fits at the Cintas last year with his ability to drive. Arch and Brunson couldn't keep Him in front of them. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bridges on ES for long spells tonight. He bothered Mo Watson a bit with his length on D. I think I'd prefer to move Brunson to Blueitt as he is not the same level of athlete as Sumner. Who guards Hart? Macura?

Bernard will be the only one who can have any chance of guarding Hart. Macura on Hart would be a nightmare.

Gates could guard him too. He's had some rough games defensively, but it's probably been a case of him getting back into the swing of things. Yeah, Macura would get destroyed; he is fundamentally not a good defender, even if he does have a top 5 steal rate in the Big East.

Macura guarding bridges would be nightmare enough. I think Kaiser will be utilized heavily defensively

Ah, another "inciteful" from our obsessed friends in Indy. Care to make a wager on whether X makes the tournament? You know...put your money where your mouth is?
Xavier will surprise. Never count them out of the Dance.

Wasn't Butler fans worried about making the tournament last year at this time? Xavier is fine right now

Well this is a good start. Villanova 0 fouls, Xavier 5 fouls. And 2 on JP. (2 of the fouls just major mental mistakes on our end)

Yeah, JP definitely earned his fouls. Really stupid.

Myles generally looked awkward out there. He "knows" the sets but he didn't really execute them well in terms of his position. Oh well, that's some bad rust he needs to shake off.
