Holy Land - 4th Anniversary...!

Postby billyjack » Thu Dec 22, 2016 1:37 pm

Hey guys,
Many consider the December 22nd, 2012, as the birthday of the Holy Land of Hoops.

The day fell between the day incorrectly attributed to as the end of the Mayan Calendar (Dec 21, 2012), and the annual Festivus celebration (Dec 23rd). Within a week, over 100 people registered at the HLOH.

Anyway, the Big East is positioned in a place so far beyond where even the most optimistic BE fans could have imagined.

Great to have been a part of it all. Good luck to everyone going forward.

We have to be thrilled as fans.

AND we have room for improvement! That's a scary thought.

Thank you for mentioning it. Safe to say a lot has happened since the first days of this board and no one knew what might happen if / when the C7 broke apart. For a walk down memory lane, I encourage you to go all the way back and read some of the earliest threads on this board - it's almost unreal to think that was only 4 years ago.

Happy Birthday HLOH! It's been a fun 4 years.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Great work by everyone who made this board what it is today. Glad I stumbled on this board while waiting for family to arrive on Xmas Eve last year.

Great board to exchange info and passion about our teams. Let's keep it going another 30 years at least!

Thanks to all the mods and everyone posting to make this such a great place to exchange info and discuss Big East hoops! Feels like it was just yesterday the C7 separated and brought some elite basketball schools to join us. If you would have told me the new Big East would still have 3-4 ranked teams every year and 5-6 bids every year along with a national championship, I'd think you were nuts. If you were to tell me that the new conference turned into a huge success without Georgetown playing a major role in it, I'd also call you nuts. The fact remains that this conference is in perhaps its best year so far...and Georgetown and St. John's have not even been a real factor yet. Just wait until one or maybe both programs get back to relevancy. Can you imagine #10 Georgetown vs. #15 St. John's at MSG? Man...I want to see the day.
