Chris Macks first 7 recruiting classes, 2 top 40 recruits. 2017 recruiting class, 2 top 40 recruits. Great recruiting class.

Congratulations to Chris Mack and Xavier. That is a seriously impressive class, which should keep Xavier at or near the top of the BE for years to come.

Congrats X fans.

There are going to be some big time haymakers thrown at each other in the coming years. Starting to feel like those old Big East brawls, with serious heavy weights, are going to be the new norm in conference.

Now if Nova can land Walker I believe the OP will hit the mark with his original statement. Man this conference is going to be a lot of fun.

Just a thought...seems like X has replaced Ohio St as the premier hoops school in OH. At least the recruiting trail and on court performance seems to suggest that. Impressive.
Go Nova!

Thanks Gumby.

I've always respected Nova and look forward to continuing what took place during last season's regular season games.

Ohio State is Ohio State. It's sheer enormity and unique position in Ohio will always provide it a sense of distance from other programs in the state, regardless of its on court performance.

What IS thoroughly enjoyable is reading the apoplectic responses from Bearkitten fans Re our recruiting results versus what the Yellow Toothed Gnome is accomplishing in Clifton.

Poor UC. The Scruggs news comes over the wire, and they are otherwise probably within about 48 hours from learning that their P5 aspirations are toast.

so looking right now...
top 50- '14 had 4, '17 has 3
51-100 '14 had 11, '17 has 8
101-150 '14 had 6, '17 has 4

So '17 has closed the gap quite a bit with these last 2 guys. If could get I think even 2 more top 50 guys, I'd probably even call this year better.

The one difference between the 2 classes IMO- the '14 class was a lot more consolidated. 4 top 20 classes. This class a lot more spread out with all the teams.

Outstanding! Congratulations to the Hoyas for nabbing such a quality recruit. And thanks, Nova, for winning it all last season. Clearly it is paying huge recruiting dividends for the league this year, and I love the trajectory of the league.
Xavier will surprise. Never count them out of the Dance.

From ESPN story on this-
The Hoyas are still involved with five-star guard Troy Brown (No. 18), four-star guard David Beatty, and have been recruiting three-star guard Jamir Moultrie and Washington D.C-area wing Antwan Walker.

on 247- Brown is #13, Beatty is #125, and Walker is #183 and Moultrie is #191

Can't be true. Stever keeps telling us the big East doesn't get those kind of guys.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Stever starting to admit defeat? This may end up being one of the best classes in the history of college sports!

2017: 0 five star and 15 four stars
2016: 1 five star and 12 four stars
2015: 2 five stars and 9 four stars
2014: 1 five star and 16 four stars
2013: 0 five star and 10 four stars

Top 50 Classes:
#4 Xavier
#10 Butler
#26 Villanova
#31 Creighton
#35 Marquette
#38 Providence

#53 DePaul
#61 Georgetown
#69 Seton Hall
#71 St. John's

All 10 teams are within the first 71 positions.
