I've seen that clause but the fact that it says it applies to anyone who signs an NLI even if they're released seems to imply it doesn't matter if you haven't enrolled yet. I mean the NLI is only used to bind you to a school until you enroll. Once you're enrolled it doesn't matter anymore. You don't need release from a NLI after you enroll to leave the school. That clause is stating that it doesn't matter if you transferred to another school in between you cannot transfer back into the big east. For instance Shayok is transferring from UVA. He Signed a NLI at Marquette but was released and did not play there. But even so he's not allowed to play at any other BE school because he originally signed at Marquette although did not enroll. You also cannot drop down to Juco and then come back. That's all it's saying. It's definitely not 100% clear but I'm fairly sure that clause does not absolve him.

Would hate to have to face the kid twice a year. Hopefully he comes to his senses and comes back to Georgetown.

I have to believe the Creighton coaching staff cleared this with the Big East before calling Waters but who knows...

I want to say that this is not allowed because the league doesn't want the potential impropriety of a member school trying to convince a signed player to back out.

In the 80's a center named Ray Knight transferred to PC from Georgetown with the blessing of JT. I don't recall anyone else moving including guys that were let out of their NLI.

Xavier asked Creighton to do this as a way to return the favor for them trying to steal Mack.

Xavier 9
PC 14
Butler 21
Creighton 23
Nova 26
Marquette 47

12 4 star guys right now...

doesn't look like will beat the 2014 class- with it's 17 4/5 star guys and 4 top 20 classes. It'll be close- but no cigar.

247 composite updated after Rivals rankings:

#9 Xavier
#14 PC
#15 Creighton
#18 Nova
#28 Butler
#48 Marquette

BTW, the first AAC team on the list? #51 Memphis.......NO 4 or 5 star recruits have committed to the "American" for 2017 yet. Since you are so down on Big East recruiting, care to comment on how AAC recruiting is going? Btw, Wichita is adding no 4/5 star recruits either.

How could that be? ESPN was supposed to give them so much more exposure to potential recruits.

Someone has a crystal ball on 24/7 for Waters to Western Kentucky. They have a great class coming in, but I'm surprised at that prediction

Shakur Juiston, regarded by some as the #1 Juco player in the country, is on a visit to DePaul today.

Recent rivals article mentions that he has 1 more official visit left and that he's heard from Creighton and Western Kentucky.
