Just saw this on the OWH site.
http://www.omaha.com/huskers/husker-hoo ... ee11e.htmlDid you Butler fans have an inkling this was coming, or is it news? Tim Miles came to NU from Co State, and he's had a tough time keeping assistants. He seems likable enough, but he hasn't won like he did at CSU.

My guess is they threw money at him. He's got good recruiting ties to Indiana - probably something that Nebraska wanted.

Assistants seem to run away from Miles so it must be the money.

This is a loss for us no doubt.
He was one of Brad's guys. It's not all that bad that he is leaving. It gives Holtmann a second opportunity to personally choose a new member for his staff.
I'm willing to bet he played a very significant role in hiring Ryan Pedon. They worked together at Ohio under Groce. So far, Pedon has been great for Butler.

Its not much of a loss at all. That staff needed turnover and its plain that Holtmann is hoping just natural attrition takes care of it so he doesn't have to fire his former peers.
They are in the process of evolving into a high major staff and this is one step in that direction. They'll surely look for a producer (Id guess east coast). Having long time assistants on staff that don't do much of anything in terms of recruiting is slowly going to be phased out ---- step A of all of that

Everything I've seen seems to point to Lewis being one of the best, if not the best, recruiter on Holtmann's staff. Is that not the case?

Georgetown has had two coaches leave this offseason one to Pitt and one to GT. Will be interesting to see who gets hired. In the mean time DOBO Patrick Ewing Jr is on the recruiting trail.

David Woods puts a rose colored spin on everything Butler though. And... if who I am hearing is correct, he will be a significant recruiting upgrade to Michael Lewis. Edrick didn't make anything up, Lewis leaving presented Butler with a tremendous opportunity to upgrade our recruiting staff, I can only hope we take advantage of it.
