Xavier's freshman forward, Makinde London, has decided to transfer. He says he wants to be closer to home. Xavier now has one open scholarship for the 2016-2017 season. http://goxavier.com/news/2016/4/11/mens ... nsfer.aspx

I figured either London or Austin would leave. With the other returnees, and Jones /Ekiyor coming in, Makinde
was going to face an uphill battle for PT. Good thing Bluiett is returning.

So Farr, Abell, Reynolds, and London now gone... hmmm?
Starting to look like a midpack finish perhaps? ;)

London was going to be a bit player so probably a good move on his part. Don't forget about the players coming in. X also returns 5 of their top 6 scorers. Also could still add a graduate transfer.

I know you are being sarcastic. But London is leaving because we have too much talent. There will be a learning curve to get over Reynolds and Farr. But the players we are bringing in are extremely talented and we return 4/5 starters from a top 5 team last year. That being said, other teams in the BE can improve as well. Still, I would be shocked at anything below a top 3 finish in the BE next year.

Little disappointed by this as I thought he could develop into a pretty good player (6-9 forward with perimeter skills) but lets see what Mack does with the scholarship

Right now

Option 1: Max Strus- DII transfer 6'6 wing good shooter and nice athlete. Will come down to Butler and Xavier

Option 2: Taurean Thompson- Much longer shot than Strus, top 100 Big banger down low with a slight face up game

How many more years of eligibility will Strus have? I know Thompson is high school senior. Also, will Strus have to sit out? I would assume so because he hasn't graduated.

Strus has 2 years left and yes he'll have to sit out. Might replace Blueitt if he goes pro after next year

Yeah, the wing is going to be Xavier's biggest need. I think Thompson would be adding to an already crowded pile of bigs.

This is really too bad. London has tons of potential.
