A big Thank You from a Nova Fan

I am on post moderation with stever so often my posts don't appear until a thread is several pages beyond when the post was made, so this stuff gets buried. So I am putting up my own thread.


After Nova won, of course I was pumped to go to vusports.com and #Brightside with my blow dryer in hand for the next few hours. But the second site I wanted to go to, even before philly.com, or any of the sports media sites, was this one.

Why? Because I knew the fans here would be sincerely and genuinely happy. And not like many of the fans with no association with the team just giving congratulations for an amazing game, or the duke and Kentucky fans who flooded the boards with joy for UNC losing. But sincerely happy that it was a Big East team and not just any other team from any other conference that pulled it off.

Maybe not all fans of other big east schools feel the big east unity, but without a doubt those who post on this board do. We have been through it together for years now. Watching the league grow. Watching the amazing things FOX has been doing (how gr8 is FOX compared to ESPN???). Starting from November 2013 when only Marquette entered the season ranked and Nova lost to Columbia by 20 points and people were thinking 2 or 3 bid league for the future with minimal national poll presence. Moving on to beating first year expectations for tourney bids, having a national player of the year, and a consistent top 10 team. Then going to year two where 80% of the league was ranked at some point and 60% of the league danced and we earned a one seed. Then to year three where 40% of the league cracked the top 10, we had a top 5 match up, and we held the top spot in the polls for much of February and the Big East steamrolling other conferences through the year.

And while we all knew we were moving in the right direction, and that eventually we would break through, everybody here would rather get that monkey off our backs sooner rather than later. And everybody who posts here was rooting passionately for it to get done this year. And everybody here was probably extremely excited when it finally happened.


So thank you all for being fans of the same thing I am a fan of and for cheering real hard for the Big East. (and thank you to the admin for taking me off post moderations so next year I can participate in game threads and such)

Nova alum here who stumbled onto this site this season and thoroughly enjoyed lurking. Decided to register because of the passionate and incredibly insightful posting that I have witnessed over the course of this year. Love the Big East camaraderie.

Villanova allowed fans of 9 other schools to still feel a part of the tournament. It was so much fun watching their run. Especially since I couldn't stand Nova during the BE season. It's amazing how much that changed in the Tourney. It was a joy to watch them. Thanks for Always Reppin' the Big East!

A very classy post, Ball. I couldn't be happier for Nova and wish nothing but continued success for Nova and Jay Wright (who is the best representative Nova and the BE could ask for).
